While the women’s collection are crafted to bring out a fairytale-like quality, the men’s range of festive wear is royal and awe inspiring.
The signature use of rose gold is a distinguishing asset for the label, with Masumi Mewawalla being one of the first Indian designers to introduce this hue on the bridal runway. Featuring an array of Indian and Western cuts, the label spells out refined luxury with some of the most sought after couture and prêt designs for the modern bride and groom.
Mission & Vision
Pink Peacock Couture strongly believes in staying true to one’s roots. The core ethos of the company stems from a passion and commitment to revive and sustain traditional Indian craftsmanship. The label curates the most extraordinary and rare embroidery techniques from different parts of India and showcases the craft on an international platform.
Background and Development
Pink Peacock Couture is the brainchild of the young and zealous designer Masumi Mewawalla. At the young age of 21, the dynamic entrepreneur recognised the gap in the Indian market for a festive clothing label that truly caters to the esoteric modern tastes of the Indian elite.
It all started when Masumi Mewawalla designed a saree for her mother for her anniversary. She discovered her unbridled passion for design and channeled this zeal into starting a company of her own. At 21, Masumi Mewawalla single handedly founded Pink Peacock Couture.
With humble beginnings as a small workshop at the designer’s residence, today the company has a flagship store in Lower Parel, Mumbai. Within a few months of the label’s launch, it grew from strength to strength. The key differentiator for the label was its unique and fresh perspective on bridal and festive Indian wear and unparalleled authority on embroidery techniques. Having displayed their work at several exhibitions across India, the label’s designs garnered attention from several influencers in the fashion industry. In 2014, Pink Peacock Couture’s collection was showcased at India Runway Week Delhi where designer Masumi Mewawalla was announced as the youngest designer in India.
In 2016, Pink Peacock Couture was one of the first labels in India to introduce the use of rose gold in embroidery; steering away from norms in the bridal wear industry and introducing a vintage English touch to attires. The Fall 2016 collection called ‘Ethereal Rose’ was showcased at India Dubai Fashion Week where Masumi Mewawalla was the youngest designer to represent India on a global platform. The rose gold collection took the bridal wear industry by storm, generating valuable PR for the brand amongst the biggest names in international fashion.
Apart from its own flagship retail store, Pink Peacock Couture has a presence across India with its designs being displayed at the top designer retail stores in several Tier I and Tier II cities across the country. The brand also has a robust presence in digital and print media. The brand has its own official retail website and is also available on luxury retail stores such as Pernia’s Pop Up Shop and Aza. The designer, Masumi Mewawalla is frequently featured in fashion publications for her valuable insights into the fashion industry and trends.
